Bamboo Velour (viscose from bamboo)

For silky softness, it's hard to beat organic bamboo velour. This fabric can be used close to skin and is very absorbent. It does not wick moisture but is not uncomfortable when wet.

Bamboo velour is especially useful for those with sensitive skin and is often used for babies who cannot tolerate other diaper fabric. Bamboo is naturally antimicrobial and may resist odors better than cotton.

The bamboo velour fiber content is 70% bamboo and 28% organic cotton, with 2% polyester in the fabric backing for stability. Bamboo velour is easily dyed using Procion or fiber reactive dyes and can be used to make exceptionally luxurious fitted diapers and prefolds. Drapes beautifully in shirts, dresses, pajamas and lounge pants. For sinfully soft bedding, use it to sew some simple pillow cases and sheets!

Bamboo is an environmentally sustainable fiber and is grown without pesticides or fertilizers. Bamboo velour is lead free as certified by Intertek.
