Fabric Information

Diaper Lining Fabric

1. Microchamois microfleece is a stay-dry fabric, meaning that liquid wicks right through it, so baby's skin stays dry. It's hard to tell if a diaper is wet if you only touch the microfleece. Messy solids do not stick to it and the diaper can be emptied into the toilet without scrubbing or soaking. The microfleece used for Otter BlottersTM  O-PadsTM is very soft and resists staining and pilling wash after wash.

2. Bamboo velour (viscose made from bamboo) is a very silky-soft non-synthetic absorbent fabric. It does not wick moisture like microfleece, but is not uncomfortable when wet. It's especially useful for those with sensitive skin and is often used for babies who cannot tolerate other diaper fabric. Bamboo is naturally antimicrobial and may resist odors better than cotton. The bamboo velour fiber content is 70% bamboo and 28% organic cotton, with 2% polyester in the fabric backing for stability. Bamboo is an environmentally sustainable fiber and is grown without pesticides or fertilizers.

3. Bamboo fleece is a soft, thick, non-synthetic absorbent fabric. It does not wick moisture but is not uncomfortable when wet. It is useful for heavy wetters or for longer times between changes. The fiber content is 70% bamboo, 30% organic cotton.

4. 100% Organic cotton sherpa is luxurious thick, soft, absorbent fabric. It is very useful for heavy wetters as it absorbs well but does not take long to dry. It is slightly more bulky than bamboo fleece.

5. Organic cotton velour is a soft, durable, non-synthetic absorbent fabric. It does not wick moisture, but is not uncomfortable when wet. It's not quite as silky-soft as bamboo velour, but seems to wear better over time. The fiber content is 100% organic cotton. Organic cotton is grown and processed without pesticides or artificial fertilizers.

Shoe Fabric

1. Polartec® WindPro® fleece is a water repellent, breathable synthetic fabric, which comes in different "faces," and weights. The summerweight WindPro is a thin but durable fabric with a "hardface," which means that the surface of the fabric is smooth, durable, and not likely to pick up dirt, lint or pet hair.

2.Polartec® WindBloc® fleece is a water repellent, breathable synthetic fabric which is available in a soft, velour face.

3. Polartec® Aqua Shell® is a Windproof/breathable, and highly water-resistant symthetic fabric. This fabric features excellent stretch while providing great abrasion resistance. Aqua Shell® is a very thin but durable fabric with a "hardface," which means that the surface of the fabric is smooth, durable, and not likely to pick up dirt, lint or pet hair.

4. Toray Ultrasuede® is a washable, durable alternative to leather. Unlike leather, ultrasuede resists shrinking, fading, crocking (dye rubbing off) and cracking, and is much kinder to cows!

5. Toughtek® is a tough, non-slip, synthetic fabric which is extremely durable and can withstand washing, drying and gravel driveways!
